Harvest House Quilting – Plainfield

Harvest House Quilting is owned and operated by Colleen Plucinski, with the loving support of her husband, John (who does all the beautiful fused glass).

Colleen’s love of fabric and sewing started with clothing construction as a child and then home deco.

In the early 1970’s a quilt for Colleen and John’s baby daughter, Maurene, turned her interest to quilting.

Colleen started teaching in the mid 1980’s to friends and family. Teaching in a former chain fabric store, SoFro Fabrics, local quilt shops and community college adult education programs soon followed.

With special requests from students, she soon found herself designing and writing patterns – simple instructions for simply great quilt projects.

Harvest House Quilting web site officially opened in late 2002 followed by opening it’s current in-home full-service shop in 2005.

Currently offering over 1,500 bolts of top quality fabric, over 500 pattern titles, books, notions, kits, and of course, John’s beautiful fused glass gift items, in addition to long arm quilting services and rental options.

Colleen’s special tool, “The Wacker seams perfect” ®, is a great tool for flattening multi-seam layers without clipping, removing stitches, twisting or pressing seams open.

Over the years we have been honored with it being written up in quilt magazines; being sold through great names such as Nancy’s Notions; and appearing in two books published by Susan Cleveland of Pieces be with You, currently being distributed through 3 major distributors to quilt and sewing shops (Checker Dist., Brewer Sewing and United Notions.)

What an honor to be the one blessed with the creation of this wonderful tool!

Come visit us in our unique, In-Home Full-Service shop – not many shops like ours out there….
